The answers to these questions can be affirmative or negative. We should not forget that the expressions that use the suffix \u2013<em>chu<\/em>, the word that has this suffix is the focus of the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The basic forms to make questions is adding the suffix \u2013<em>chu<\/em> to the word to turn the expression into a question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if I want to know if the city in a photo is Cusco, I can ask my interlocutor, \u00bf<em>Qusquchu<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To know if a person is a Quechua priest I can ask \u00bf<em>Altumisayuqchu<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let's look at the following examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure interlocutor will respond: <em>Ar\u00ed<\/em>, <em>Qusqun<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interrogative suffix \u2013<em>chu<\/em> is no longer used if the response is positive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, the previous units we have learned to use the assertive euphonic markers. For example, in the positive response to the first question you add a \u2013<em>n<\/em> to the word Curahuasi, this is because this word ends in a vowel. With this it becomes <em>Curahuasin<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the second question we add \u2013<em>mi<\/em> to the word Carmen because it ends in a consonant. With this it becomes <em>Carmenmi<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-n and -mi are assertive euphonic markers that are also used in answers to questions. These answers demonstrate interest and conviction to mention something.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case that the answer is negative, it should begin with the word <em>mana<\/em>, which means no. For example, before the question \u00bf<em>Qusquchu<\/em>? The negative response is <em>manan Qusquchu<\/em>, which means 'it is not Cusco'. In some of the following examples we are adding the topicalized suffix \u2013<em>qa<\/em> in the positive and negative responses. This suffix allows us to put attention on the word that has been added. The word take the suffix \u2013<em>qa<\/em> which is the topic of the conversation, around which the information is given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example: to respond positively to the question \u00bf<em>Runasimitachu yachachin Gladys<\/em>? Does Gladys teach Quechua? we say: <em>Ar\u00ed, runasimitan Gladys-qa yachachin<\/em>. While we respond negatively with: <em>Manan runasimitachu Gladys-qa yachachin<\/em> \"Gladys does not teach Quechua'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The topicalized suffix falls on Gladys because it is the subject of the sentence and the Quechua words that are the subject should take the topicalizer \u2013<em>qa<\/em>. For example, <em>warmikunaqa pukllachkankun<\/em> 'the women are playing'<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Let's look at the following examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding
