They are not only carrying food, but also chicha. For this time they have made chairo soup with olluquito with ch'arki.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00d1a triguta taytamamay irachkanku\u00f1a, kinuwatapas irachkanku\u00f1a. Kananqa trigu phatatach\u00e1, kinuwa lawatach\u00e1 mikhusaqku. <em>My parents are already sowing wheat, they are also sowing quinoa. Now we will eat puffed wheat and quinoa soup.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mam\u00e1 Santusaqa challwata thiqtiyachichkarqa. Payqa misk\u2019illata\u00f1am wayk\u2019un challwataqa. Challwatam wayk\u2019un arrusniyuqta, papachayuqta ima.<br><em>Mother Santa was frying fish. She cooks fish very well. She prepares the fish with rice and potatoes.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Luischa llamk\u2019apakun Limapi hatun fiestakunapi. Achka runakunapaqmi wayk\u2019un Luischaqa. Tukuy imata wayk\u2019un, khuchita, wallpata, challwata ima.<br><em>Luis works in big parties in Lima. Luis cooks for many people. He cooks everything like meals based on pork, chicken, and fish.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00d1a carnaval killa chayarqamun\u00f1a, hinaspa tiyay Justina sapa wata hina t\u2019imputa wayk\u2019unqa. Payqa achkatan wayk\u2019un hinaspa lliwllaman mayichin t\u2019imputaqa.<br><em>The month of Carnival has already arrived, my aunt Justina is going to cook t'impu or puchero like she does every year. Kananqa trigu phatatach\u00e1, kinuwa lawatach\u00e1 mikhusaqku. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let's learn about some typical Quechua meals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-accent-5-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-52009084 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chiri Uchu<\/strong>. This is the most well known dish in Cusco. This dish is prepared especially in the celebration of Corpus Christi. It is a cold food and its preparation uses different ingredients such as guinea pig, chicken, toasted corn, cheese, jerky, cured meats, a type of seaweed called quchayuyu, fish eggs, and pepper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chairo<\/strong>. This is a soup that helps people warm up in the cold. This soup is very consistent and helps people do labor that demands physical labor, especially those who work in agriculture. To prepare the Chairo, diverse ingredients are used such as dried potato (chu\u00f1o), lamb, jerky, potatoes, peas, carrots, fava beans, mint, oregano, parsley, cumin, and salt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sopa de Quinua<\/strong>. Similarly to the Chairo soup, quinoa soup is eaten frequently, especially in families that work in agriculture. This soup is characterized for being light and recommended for people who need to consume iron. The ingredients used to prepare this soup are quinoa, garlic, onion, carrot, fava beans, potatoes, oregano, and cilantro.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lawa de chu\u00f1u<\/strong>. This is a dish that is eaten at any time of year in rural communities. Among the ingredients of this lawa are dried potatoes, chickpeas, rice, and beef. For its preparation the ch'u\u00f1u (dried potato) should be ground and then disolved in cold water before boiling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> <strong>Olluquito con ch\u2019arki<\/strong>. This dish is eaten frequently in the Andes. Among the ingredients you will find olluco, which is a tuber that grows in the Andean highlands, and beef jerky, llama or alpaca. In addition to these ingredients, rice, garlic, aj\u00ed panca (a Peruvian red pepper), pepper, salt, cumin, and parsley.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>T\u2019impu or puchero<\/strong>. Each year when Carnival arrives, t'impu or puchero is prepared. It is a thick soup that uses meat, potato, cassava, peach, pear, sweet potato, moraya (white ch'u\u00f1u), chickpeas, rice, vegetables, legumes, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure
